Xinjiang photovoltaic project helps poverty alleviation households to increase income steadily

On March 28th, in the early spring of Tuoli County, northern Xinjiang, the snow was still unfinished, and 11 photovoltaic power plants continued to generate electricity steadily and steadily under the sunlight, injecting lasting momentum into the income of local poverty alleviation households.

The total installed capacity of 11 photovoltaic power stations in Tuoli County is more than 10 MW, and all of them were connected to the grid for power generation in June 2019. The State Grid Tacheng Power Supply Company will consume the full amount of on-grid electricity after grid connection and distribute it to 22 villages in the county every month, which will be used to pay wages for public welfare jobs in the village. Up to now, the cumulative amount of on-grid electricity has reached more than 36.1 million kWh and converted more than 8.6 million yuan of funds.

Since 2020, Tuoli County has made full use of photovoltaic projects to develop and set up 670 village-level photovoltaic public welfare jobs, allowing local villagers to achieve employment at their doorsteps and become “workers” with stable income.

Gadra Trick from Jiyek Village, Toli County is a beneficiary of the photovoltaic project. After graduating in 2020, she worked in the village’s public welfare position. Now she is working as a bookmaker on Jiyek Village Committee. The administrator can get a salary of more than 2,000 yuan per month.

According to Hana Tibolat, the leader and first secretary of the Toli County Party Committee’s working team in Jiyake Village, the photovoltaic revenue of Jiyek Village in Toli County will reach 530,000 yuan in 2021, and it is expected that there will be 450,000 yuan in revenue this year. The village uses photovoltaic income funds to set up various public welfare posts in the village, provide them to the labor force for poverty alleviation, implement dynamic management, and promote the continuous increase of income of the poverty-stricken population.

To ensure the stable operation of photovoltaic power plants, the State Grid Toli County Power Supply Company regularly organizes staff to go to each photovoltaic power station to comprehensively inspect the equipment and supporting power supply lines of the power grid in the station, check the safety of the photovoltaic power generation system, and eliminate hidden defects in time.

The implementation of the photovoltaic project not only increases the income and provides employment opportunities for the poverty-stricken households in Tuoli County, but also strengthens the income of the village-level collective economy.
