1.46 trillion in 5 years! Second-largest PV market passes new target

On September 14, the European Parliament passed the Renewable Energy Development Act with 418 votes in favor, 109 against, and 111 abstentions. The bill raises the 2030 renewable energy development target to 45% of final energy.

Back in 2018, the European Parliament had set a 2030 renewable energy target of 32%. At the end of June this year, the energy ministers of EU countries agreed to increase the proportion of renewable energy targets in 2030 to 40%. Before this meeting, the new renewable energy development target is mainly a game between 40% and 45%. The target is set at 45%.

According to the previously published results, to achieve this goal, from now to 2027, that is, within five years, the EU needs to invest an additional 210 billion euros in the development of solar energy, hydrogen energy, biomass energy, wind energy, and nuclear energy. Wait. There is no doubt that solar energy is the focus of this, and my country, as the world’s largest producer of photovoltaic products, will also become the first choice for European countries to develop solar energy.

Statistics show that by the end of 2021, the cumulative installed capacity of photovoltaics in the EU will be 167GW. According to the new target of the Renewable Energy Act, the cumulative photovoltaic installed capacity of the EU will reach 320GW in 2025, which is almost double compared to the end of 2021, and by 2030, the cumulative photovoltaic installed capacity will further increase to 600GW, which is an almost double “Small goals”.
