Is your PV plant ready for summer?

The turn of spring and summer is the period of strong convective weather, followed by the hot summer is also accompanied by high temperatures, heavy rain and lightning and other weather, the roof of the photovoltaic power plant is subjected to multiple tests. So, how do we usually do a good job of dealing with measures to ensure the stable operation of photovoltaic power plants, to ensure revenue?

For the high temperature in summer

1、Pay attention to cleaning and clearing the shade on the power station, so that the components are always in a state of ventilation and heat dissipation.

2、Please clean the power station in the early morning or evening, avoiding the sunny and high temperature time in the noon and afternoon, because the sudden cooling will make the glass panel of the module have temperature difference and there is a possibility of cracking the panel. Therefore, you need to choose the early morning and evening when the temperature is lower.

3. The high temperature may cause the aging of the internal components of the inverter, so it is very important to ensure that the inverter has good ventilation and heat dissipation conditions. The inverter is basically installed outdoors. When installing the inverter, place it in a cool place to avoid direct sunlight, such as the back of the module or under the eaves, and add a cover plate for outdoor installation to fully ensure the ventilation and heat dissipation of the inverter.

For summer rainstorm

Large amounts of rainwater will soak the cables and modules, causing the insulation to deteriorate, and if it breaks, it will directly lead to failure to generate electricity.

If your home is a pitched roof, it will have strong drainage capacity, so please don’t worry; if it is a flat roof, you need to inspect the power station frequently. Note: When inspecting operation and maintenance in rainy days, avoid unarmed electrical operations, do not touch inverters, components, cables and terminals directly with your hands, you need to wear rubber gloves and rubber boots to reduce the risk of electric shock.

For lightning in summer

The lightning protection facilities of photovoltaic power plants should also be regularly investigated. At this stage of lightning protection measures, the most effective and widespread method is to connect the metal parts of the electrical equipment to the earth. The grounding system consists of four parts: the grounding equipment, the grounding body, the introduction line and the earth. Avoid overhauling electrical equipment and lines with bare hands, wear insulated rubber gloves, beware of the risk of electric shock, and take measures against high temperatures, rainstorms, typhoons and lightning strikes.

The weather is unpredictable, increase the inspection and maintenance of the power station, can effectively avoid failure or even accidents, to ensure that the power station generation revenue. You can carry out simple operation and maintenance of the power station at ordinary times, or you can hand over the power station to professional operation and maintenance engineers for testing and maintenance.
